Press On Nails: Unpaid Review

Hi Boobies! Jodie here. This is an unpaid review for Lifestyle collective’s press on nails. All of the press on nails featured were gifted. However, all views within this article are my own.

For a couple of years I was addicted to acrylic nails; long, short, bright, nude You name it, I had it. After taking a break I started to get “the itch” but I didn’t want the commitment. So, I turned to press-on nails, which is a love hate relationship for me on one hand (excuse the pun) they are cheap, easy to change and do feel like less of a commitment to acrylics but they are
often poor quality, can be boring designs and after a few drinks you find yourself with half a set. But, when my friend Rachel, owner of Lifestyle Collective asked me if I wanted to trial their press-on nails I couldn’t say yes fast enough. I knew from having my nails done by her previously, I was in for a treat.

Lifestyle collective

Opened in the Summer of 2015, Lifestyle Collective is the future of nail salons. You aren’t going to be plonked on a clinical white bench here. Located on the very cool Allerton Road (Liverpool) and just around the corner from Penny Lane, there are squishy armchairs, gorgeous local coffee
and cake on offer, as well as a generous helping of friendly Scouse hospitality.

The Nails

They arrived in a reusable cotton bag, which has been great considering I can be quite a klutz when it comes to losing things. Something I didn’t want to risk with my precious loot. As well as this, the recent rebrand has meant the packaging was well thought out with clear instructions included, as well as; alcohol wipes, glue, a cuticle stick and a nail file. Each set of nails was beautifully hand painted with unique designs and lasted around 2 weeks,
which is a lot longer than my £1 Primark nails had lasted post night out.

Moving Forward

Unfortunately, post lockdown Lifestyle Collective are no longer providing these press-on’s due to the salon reopening on 21st July (hooray!). But I’d recommend checking out their Instagram grid for some amazing nail inspiration and if you’re in the Liverpool area get booked in! You’ll be helping a small, independently owned business. Plus count it as a mental health day. Boost those positivity vibes and treat yourself! It’s the least we all deserve after these harsh, long months.

Much love,

Jodie x
