Autumn Decorations

It’s that wonderful time of year again, when everything starts to wind down, that twilight of calm before party season sets itself in full swing; Hallowe’en, Bon fire night, Diwali & Thanks giving to name but a few.  It’s also that time when we begin to change over, swap our summer wardrobes to winter, bring out the heavier bed linen, drape our sofas with throws and look at ways to snuggle up and redirect our time into our homes.  And with that in mind we’ve gathered a nice Autumnal hoard of decorative ideas for this and the following festive months to come.

JARS

A great way to recycle all those glass jars that gather at the back of your kitchen cupboards.  Repurpose them into display pieces for a fireplace, table top centre piece or to boarder your doorsteps.

PUMPKINS

A go to favourite for everyone but, if you are bored of the bog standard orange pumpkin why not try out the array of gourds and squash currently on sale at your local market or ‘Pick Your Own’ farm.

PARK PICKINGS

Don’t fancy braving the wet and cold to find supplies? Why not try some quick and simply indoor projects by experimenting with various media including chalk and slate.  Or just slice up a couple oranges, sprinkle them with cinnamon and/or cardamon and dry them in the oven; not only will the entire house smell lush they will last the year out and can be used for a plethora of decorative ideas.
