P’s Beach Themed Birthday: With Bostik

This is a gifted, unpaid AD in partnership with Bostik UK

In just over 10 weeks it will be P’s 1st birthday. Preparation is under way as I try to get all the decorations made and invites sent out before the end of this month. We’ve decided on a beach theme as this year we will be doubling up celebrations with two parties. One with our UK family here in England and another with our Greek family over in Greece.

As many of you will know by now. Much of my crafting comes from trying to find creative ways to reduce our waste by recycling. This project is no different. In preparation I’ve been collecting jars which will become both table top decorations for flowers and candles as well as tumblers for adult drinks. To match in with these I will also be continuing the theme by using the same materials to make the invites and table placements

What You Will Need

  • Bostik PVA Glue
  • Bostik Glu Dots
  • White Ribbon
  • Jars
  • Blue Card
  • 2 Different Blue Shades of Foam/Card/Fabric
  • Silver stars

Table Top Jars

1: Lay the two blue pieces of material (we’ve used sheets of foam) one on top of the other, but slightly over-lapped

2:Cut across in a wavey line. Make sure that your length of foam/material is long enough to wrap around your jar.

3:Use the Bostik Glu dots to first glue one piece of foam onto the other and then on to the jar.

4:Use the Bostik PVA glue to fix the stars onto the foam.

5:For using as a tumbler finish here (without the bow). For mini table top decorative vases tie a small piece of white ribbon around the top of the jar and finish with a bow.

Invitation/ Name Cards

The steps for these are almost exactly the same as those for the jars. The only differences being that for the ribbon you will want two pieces. One to glue flat across the top using the Bostik PVA glue. And another to tie in a bow and fix into place using the glue dots. For name cards write, print or stamp the individual names on to them. You could also use this style and method for labelling foods. For invites leave blank (without a name) on the front.

Love the little table top jars! Are you going to put a little LED tealight in them? I reckon they would great as decorations for BBQs and summer parties too. Great idea! Thanks for joining me at #KidsandKreativity, hope you come back next time x
